What we collect
- From you (the nominator): name, email, phone, and LinkedIn URL (optional).
- About the people you nominate: the name and contact (phone, email, or LinkedIn URL) that you provide, plus your optional freeform context about them. We collect this without the nominee's prior consent; see below.
- Attribution: the URL parameters at submission (source, UTM tags) so we know which channel sent you.
- Analytics: Plausible Analytics, which is cookie-free and does not track you across other sites.
Why we collect it
Lawful basis: legitimate interest in recruitment, balanced against the rights of the people you nominate. We do not sell or share this data for advertising.
How we treat the people you nominate
- We reach out to each nominee individually. Hannah, our recruiting cofounder, makes the first contact.
- Each outreach includes an immediate opt-out and data deletion option. Replying "remove me" is sufficient in v1; we are building a self-serve unsubscribe in v1.1.
- We do not share the nominator's identity with the nominee unless the nominator explicitly authorizes it.
- We do not share the nominee's information with any employer unless that person consents.
Retention
- Unactioned nominations: 18 months. If we have not engaged a nominee within 18 months, the row is deleted automatically.
- Placed candidates: 7 years. Required by tax and employment recordkeeping rules in the US.
- Opt-outs: 18 months. We keep the opt-out signal long enough to avoid re-contacting.
How to ask us to delete your data
Email privacy@opensignalrecruiting.com from the email address on the submission, or from the nominee's direct contact. We confirm deletion within 5 business days.
Jurisdiction
OpenSignal is a US-based entity. If you are submitting from a jurisdiction with additional rights (EU, UK, California, Singapore, others), those rights apply and you can exercise them via the email above.
